The Mission of Kimbiji was established in 2008 and is located close to Dar es Salaam on an area of 800 square km along the Indian Ocean Coast. Its population is of about 53000 people.
The main villages involved in the Mission activities are: Kimbiji, Mbutu, Ngombanya, Puna, Buyuni, Pemba Mnazi.
The area is characterized by poverty, drought and hot climate that make agricultural activities hardly profitable as harvest is not always guaranteed.
An important challenge and priority is tackling child malnutrition. Balanced diets are rare, often leading to malnutrition, which is aggravated by the debilitating high-humidity climate.
The Mission is currently managed by Father Luciano Scaccia whom we are priviledged to support through the promotion of the Mission’s projects .
